Tour the IC PC Garden! Sept 6, 10am-4pm

August 22, 2014

SignPhotoAll are welcome!

The tour at IC is part of the wider “Permaculture Site Tour” day organized by the Finger Lakes Permaculture Institute (FLPCI) to showcase the burgeoning practice of permaculture design in our region of New York.

The Ithaca College Permaculture Garden (ICPC Garden) is one of more than 10 sites that can be toured on during this inaugural event.

The ICPC Garden, located at the southeast corner of Williams Hall, demonstrates a way to integrate permaculture into academic settings. The garden was designed and implemented with students over several years, and is a handicapped accessible outdoor classroom maintained by students in and Environmental Studies course entitled “ENVS10400: Gardens: Ecological Design and Practice,” which helps build interest in the campus-wide Organic Growers student club. The IC PC Garden also serves as a small-scale, manageable demonstration for alternative landscaping on large campuses–ask us about “the business case” for permaculture!

Learn more about the IC PC Garden or view a video via our main page:

Visitors to site tour on Sept 6 may park in the O-lot (located below the Park School of Communications).

Individuals with handicap permits may park in the handicap spaces in E-lot (located behind Williams near the Chapel).
